In 2018, Davi Pontes and Wallace Ferreira began a choreographic trilogy centered on self-defense in the face of generalized violence. Titled Repertório, the series seeks to establish new ways of understanding and representing minority experiences. Repertório N.3 is the final piece of this trilogy, premiering in December 2023 at the 35th São Paulo Biennial.

Drawing on postcolonial, gender, and race studies, Pontes and Ferreira explore how a body, and what it carries, develops its own capacity to defend itself. How can we perform violence without condoning it? By setting this choreographic repertoire of self-defense in motion, Davi Pontes and Wallace Ferreira aim to challenge minds and ideas through the body, proposing various strategies of resistance: a powerful and enduring way of remaining in the world by populating imaginations with visionary fantasies.
