In partnership with La Friche la Belle de Mai
on n’avait plus peur, on a couru (we were no longer afraid, we ran) weaves links between static position and running. Nesrine Salem and Fanny Souade Sow explore the immobility of bodies from segregated territories, perceived as dangerous or as a form of resistance. They explore walking and running to "embrace without guilt our right to flee" (Marie Dasyla).
Named after Oasis Love by Sonia Chiambretto, the performance is presented as part of Comme un printemps, je serai nombreuses, a group exhibition by Triangle-Astérides from February 8 to June 8 with and around Sonia Chiambretto.
Biographies
Fanny Souade Sow's work is driven by sociopolitical and historical questions. Through editions, sculptures, or performances, her creations expose systemic and violent mechanisms of oppression while contributing to the rewriting of a collective memory.
Nesrine Salem is a visual artist and author. Through her written and visual polyglossia, she celebrates the plurality of her identity and focuses her research on intergenerational trauma, tokenism, and mourning practices. These themes converge in her first short film, What is the residue left from setting a black puddle on fire? She also directs SABR/Collection, a series of publications edited by @postfirebooks, which aims to highlight the intersectionality of struggles.
