Exhibition conceived and produced by 3 bis f - Centre d’arts contemporains d’interêt national. Nina Boughanim has been selected in the framework of La Relève, la suite, in partnership with FRAC Sud.

Exhibition dates: February 1-April 12, 2025

In 2024-2025, Parallèle is partnering with 3 bis f, a contemporary art center of national interest, and the Centre d’Arts Plastiques Fernand Léger in Port-de-Bouc to provide support for artists previously selected for La Relève. Titled La Relève, la suite, this project aims to enhance the guidance and professional development of emerging artists while fostering connections within the local territory.

Nina Boughanim’s work explores traces, memory, and intimacy. The images, objects, and stories from the past that she collects are rooted in what she describes as a curative process.

“Celles qui émergent” (Those Who Emerge), her solo exhibition at 3 bis f, is a journey into childhood memories, moments of calm, and healing through and with water—this precious liquid present in our bodies and daily lives. Water becomes a narrative material, delving into the relationship between strength and vulnerability within the walls of 3 bis f, a former women’s asylum housed in the Montperrin Psychiatric Hospital in Aix-en-Provence. Through a series of sculptures, the artist gives (re)birth to memories, dreams, and shared or individual stories.

This exhibition, created and presented at 3 bis f, will open in February 2025 in partnership with Festival Parallèle 15 and the FRAC Sud collections, as part of La Relève, la suite. Exhibition dates: February 1 to April 12, 2025.

Biography

A graduate of the Brevet de Métiers d’Art and the Beaux-Arts of Marseille, Nina Boughanim’s work is rooted in storytelling, which she translates through sculpture, drawing, writing, and installation. Driven by a desire to preserve her personal history, she enriches her research with the landscapes she encounters. Attentive to old architectures and intimate spaces, she transforms them to craft new narratives. Through collection and assemblage, she explores the tensions between materials and symbols, evoking calm, care, and the possibility of disruption.

Nina Boughanim has participated in several group exhibitions, including at La Friche la Belle de Mai, 100% L’Expo in Paris, and the Décollage project at the Polaris Art Center in Istres. In 2024, she exhibited in La Relève 6 at the Château de Servières as part of Festival Parallèle 14, in Les Arts Éphémères, and in both acts of Odyssea with the Spiaggia Libera Paris gallery. She is currently a resident at Artagon Marseille.
